Galaxy RED

GalaxyRed is one of a kind in the music industry. Combining the live music of long-time St. Louis favorite the Galaxy Band with St. Louis' legendary DJ Crucial gives the audience an experience like they have never known.

What makes this combination truly exceptional is the ability of the Galaxy Band and DJ Crucial to play TOGETHER and independent of one another to provide four hours of seamless, non-stop music ranging from the 1950's to the edgy R&B and Hip Hop sounds of today and everything in between. Galaxy Band leader Lenny Klinger and his crew combine with the turntable man DJ Crucial in a way that is so unexpected, precise in its execution and producing music in such a new and authentic way that it is impossible to compare them to any other artists living or dead. DJ Crucial’s ear leans toward the Golden Era when groups like KMD, Das Efx, and Black Moon reigned supreme. The same kind of positive vibe comes through in his beat catalogue, and he provides his emcees with personalized soundscapes that reflect their respective perspectives, meanwhile always creating more beats for an ever-growing clientele in St. Louis and beyond

Mo E Trio

From the start of his performing career in the mid 90s Maurice "Mo" Egeston has made a mark in the St. Louis region as a leader of innovative and popular bands. His early study of classical piano brought him to graduate work at SIU-E. It was while completing his Master's that Mo began exploring styles of music beyond the classical tradition. Since then, all of his projects, including Vargas Swing, the Soul Alliance featuring CocoSoul, Urban Jazz Naturals and Mo & Dawn have seen Mo combine his musical talent and formal training with an ability to lead and run successful groups.

In 2010 Mo Egeston is returning to his roots as a pianist fronting his own group, the Mo E Trio. The Trio combines influences from all the projects Mo currently performs in (UG Project, the Soul Alliance, and Brothers Lazaroff) with his own interest in soul, jazz and electronic influences. The resulting sound is a groove based experience that seeks to redefine traditional expectations.

Drummer, Grover Stewart and bassist, Teddy Brookins join Mo on this journey. Styles referenced include soul, jazz, bossa, r & b, organic house grooves and drum and bass; however no genre is considered off limits! Originals, jazz standards, pop music and neo-soul melodies will all be a part of the Mo E Trio sound. A sound which easily slides from deep lounge ambiance to center stage funk grooves.

At times guest artists join the experience complimenting the sounds of Mo, Grover and Ted. Mo E Trio is always diverse and improvisational with a definite focus on the tap of the toe and the nod of the head.

New Orleans Style Second Line Band

The Second Line is a long standing tradition in New Orleans, or should we say N'Orleans. Groups of partiers, spectators, and dancers follow the musicians in the brass band parades around the streets celebrating life. The Funky Butt Brass Band was formed in 2008 by six talented musicians who respect and revere the New Orleans brass band tradition. The FBBB takes classic New Orleans brass tunes and gives them a twist, in the style of Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Rebirth and Bonerama. But don’t be surprised if you also hear some Motown, Southern rock, Memphis soul, Chicago blues and St. Louis R&B in the mix.

Richie leads the band with his timeless voice, groovy piano riffs, and charismatic honest-to-goodness personality. Together they blend blues, jazz, and funk to create modern soul music that brings people to the dance floor.

Ryan Marquez Trio

Ryan Marquez Trio

Creating inspiring original compositions and hip arrangements of jazz standards/pop covers in a piano trio setting that works well in concert and club type settings. The band brings positive energy and harmonious sounds perfect for all environments jazz/easy listening music is welcomed. Together, the trio utilizes their individual skill sets to effectively create an aesthetic that is reminiscent of classic jazz trios of yesteryear while infusing their own artistic ideas and shedding new sounds into a vintage concept.

Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, music has always been Ryan's passion. Initiating his musical career at age 5 on piano, he has been performing, writing, recording, producing, and inspiring others through his music ever since. With 25 years of experience, Ryan has sung and performed piano/keyboards, organ, & bass on stages all over the world in numerous styles/settings. (USA, UK, Germany, France, Holland, Kosovo, Liechtenstein, Austria and more)
Baptized in Soul/Gospel, indoctrinated by Jazz and raised by Hip Hop/American Culture, his playing reflects the modern paradigm of artists focused on shifting music’s energy to a fluid melting pot of familiar albeit uniquely, conscious sounds.

The current trio configuration was cultivated in the winter of 2016 upon meeting producer/drummer extraordinaire Stevie Davis through doing side work together with jazz singer Joe Mancuso. Davis has performed with some of jazz’s heaviest hitters including David Liebman, Bill Evans, Richie Beirach, John Pattitucci, and Benny Golson. He has over 165 recordings to his credit, including 8 of his own. Steve served on the faculty of Jamey Aebersold Jazz Clinics from 1982-2008. Bassist Ben Wheeler rounds out the trio with his rich sound and melodic note selection. Together the group performs a mixture of originals, classic jazz standards arranged to their liking and familiar pop/covers reimagined in their own soulful voice.

Currently, Ryan and the guys are in production on a full-length studio release entitled “Moving Forward in Time” due out in 2018.

In addition to leading his own trio, Ryan currently leads and performs regularly with two bands, Fresh Heir (Pop/Soul/Funk) and The People’s Key (Jazz/Funk) in addition to performing regularly in the St. Louis community with many like-minded artists ranging a variety of styles. Ryan has international tour experience through England, France, Germany, Holland, Austria, Hungary, Kosovo and more as well as countless hours circuiting the Mid-West and West Coast.
