Tom Ackerman is one of the most recognizable and trusted voices in St. Louis. As Sports
Director at KMOX Radio, Tom has spent more than 25 years connecting with audiences through
engaging storytelling, insightful commentary, and a warm, authentic presence that resonates
with listeners across the Midwest.
In addition to co-anchoring the popular “Total Information A.M.” broadcast, Tom has built a
distinguished career covering the biggest moments in St. Louis sports. Over the years, he has
served as a producer, reporter, host, and play-by-play announcer, including broadcasts for Saint
Louis University basketball, the Missouri Valley Conference, and St. Louis Cardinals
telecasts. His conversational style, deep sports knowledge, and quick wit make him equally
comfortable behind a microphone in the studio or in front of a live audience.
Tom is also a highly sought-after event emcee, keynote speaker, and charity auctioneer,
known for bringing energy, professionalism, and a natural connection with audiences to every
stage. His ability to read a room, keep events running smoothly, and inspire generous bidding
has helped many organizations elevate their fundraising results and create memorable
experiences for their guests. Tom has hosted and emceed numerous civic and sports events,
including the prestigious Jack Buck Sports Awards, and regularly lends his voice and talent to
community organizations throughout the region.
A passionate supporter of the St. Louis community, Tom works closely with organizations such
as the March of Dimes, the St. Louis Men’s Group Against Cancer, and the St. Louis
Sports Commission, helping raise awareness and funds for important causes.
A proud St. Louis native, Tom graduated from MICDS before earning his degree in
Telecommunications from Indiana University in 1997, where he first developed his love for
broadcasting as a play-by-play announcer and talk show host on student radio.
When he’s not on the air or on stage, Tom enjoys spending time with his wife Angie and their
two daughters, Erika and Audrey. Whether he’s sharing sports stories, engaging an audience, or
helping a nonprofit exceed its fundraising goals, Tom Ackerman brings the same enthusiasm,
professionalism, and hometown pride that have made him a beloved voice in St. Louis.
