He’s best known as the public-address announcer for the St. Louis Blues since 1987 and was honored with induction into the St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame in 2020.

With over 40 years of experience in the St. Louis broadcasting scene, Tom Calhoun is a trusted and recognizable voice in both sports and media. A seasoned professional in news, sports play-by-play, hosting, and station management, Tom brings unmatched credibility and warmth to every project.
Since 1987, Tom has served as the iconic public-address announcer for the St. Louis Blues and, since 2003, as the stadium voice for the Gateway Grizzlies baseball team. His tenure as a news anchor and host at KMOX—“The Voice of St. Louis”—further solidified his reputation as one of the region’s most authoritative and engaging voices.
Tom’s voice is featured in regional and national commercials, corporate narrations, and industrial projects. In recognition of his outstanding contributions to sports media, he was inducted into the St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame in 2020.
A SAG-AFTRA member and former board member of its St. Louis chapter, Tom holds a master’s degree in communications from Lindenwood University and a bachelor’s in mass communications from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. He currently shares his expertise as a professor of voice acting at Southwestern Illinois College.
Based in Millstadt, IL, Tom lives with his wife Barb and enjoys time with their two grown sons.
